"Moloch’s sound is desperate and disparaging, with a rather raw, lo-fi sound throughout. There is a definite leaning towards the sounds of Xasthur and Striborg, although the lo-fi production really reminds me of early Burzum. Tracks like “Spiritueller Selbstmord” and “Du bist nichts in dieser sterbenden Welt” showcase crawling melodic motifs balanced by fast paced trem-riffing and blasting double bass runs. “Blutmond” shows the band touching the speed and trem patterns of golden-era Darkthrone, only to hit the brakes and invoke the writhing nature of depressive black metal. Verwüstung ebbs and flows throughout, summoning the depressingly tragic, with atmospheric passages and tortured vocals, and weaving into the abysmal sound faster passages of blackened trem riffing and blasting drums. The entire offering is an emotional outpouring of depressive, tortured sentiments. I’d go into detail on the lyrical subjects, but they were performed in Latin and Old English. Taken from
